Director of Studies Message

It will be cheating to embark on educative issues in St. Francis day and boarding primary school without passing a word of appreciate to the proprietor who has kept to the vision of this institution and seeing to it that the institution strives to greater heights.

Madam Grace Lukwago thank you for this vision which answers the government’s strategy of reducing illiteracy and also creating employment opportunities to Ugandans. The senior Administrator who ensures that all academic and non-academic affairs are well handled in this institution. The headmaster and the staff for the academic Excellency reached as we educate to build the nation.

In the academic arena, we embrace the national curriculum for the national curriculum development centre in which subjects like; science, Mathematics, English and Social studies, we also front the co-curricular activities like Cape I, Cape II and CRE. But to ensure that teaching and learning process is complete we ensure adequate testing as a check list on the teaching and learning process.

We also carry out library summaries in which children read books borrowed from the library which is well stocked and then make summaries which are marked and rewarded by the very experienced staff.

We have clubs in the school e.g scouting, swimming, debating, mathematics, environmental protection, red cross etc.
In regard to clubs Mathematics club presented candidates for the National Mathematics competition organized by the Uganda Mathematics Society at Makerere University and our children were able to compete nation wide at all levels up the last stage and this makes me proud of St. Francis day and boarding Primary school.

Practical teaching is enforced in the school, we have a demonstration garden, poultry and science kits that have been prepared by the curriculum development centre to enforce practical teaching country wide.
Tours are also conducted regularly for all classes.

Performance, our academic trend has been rising year after year which has made St. Francis a giant school around. I want to inform you that basing on the strategies laid, I feel that we are likely to move to greater height in academics because we encourage wholistic teaching and developing an all round child.
As the mission of the school states that; “TO PROVIDE LEARNERS WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR SELF RELIANCE THUS ENABLING THEM TO MEET THE GROWING CHALLENGES OF THE MODERN WORLD”.

I want to the thank the parents, the well wishers and the dearest pupils for the varied contributions towards the successes in the school academic program and also ask you to  continue because it is the contribution of all stake holders that makes a school what it is to be.

I pray that the almighty enables you to get more children and send them to St. Francis to make it a better school for tomorrow.
